Jason Rogers- Baseball

Jason Rogers is the first baseman for the #8 Cougar baseball team. Jason had a big week for the Cougars as the team extended its winning streak to 12 games. He hit .429 for the week with six hits in 14 at bats but 4 of the hits were home runs that helped him drive 12 runners home. Against AUM, Rogers hit a 2 strike round tripper that propelled the Cougars to a 11-9 come from behind victory on the road on Tuesday. Then on the weekend, Jason hit 3 more homers to lead the Cougars to a three game sweep of last year's national champion Lynn University.

Rogers, a native of Atlanta, came to CSU from Sothern Union Community College in Wadley, Alabama and has been an instant force for the Cougar offense. On the season, Rogers is hitting .362 with 7 home runs and 21 RBI. He also leads the team in total hits with 21 and runs scored with 19. Jason has lead the Cougars to a fast start in the 2010 season with a 13-2 record.

Rogers and the Cougars will be in action this weekend as they host Urbana University in a three game series. Game 1 will be on Saturday at 2 p.m. with a doubleheader on Sunday starting at 1 p.m.
