Steve Peterson Named Stitch Central Cougar of the Week

Steve Peterson was chosen as Columbus State University’s Stitch Central Cougar of the Week for the week ending on December 4.
Peterson helped the Cougar basketball team to a 1-1 record this past week averaging 18 points per game. On Tuesday (11/30), Peterson netted 17 points as the Cougars used a last second shot to upend West Alabama 68-66. He made a season best five three-point field goals. On Saturday (12/3), the Columbus native scored a game high 19 points as the Cougars dropped a heartbreaking 60-59 decision to West Georgia.
For the year, Peterson is averaging 15.2 points per game which is tied for the ninth best mark in the Peach Belt Conference. In five games this season, Peterson has scored 19 points three times and hit 17 once.
