Frank G. Lumpkin, Jr. Center
The Frank G. Lumpkin, Jr. Center is the home of the CSU men's and women's basketball teams. The Lumpkin Center covers some 96,000 square feet and seats about 4500 for basketball events. There are some 2500 seats in the "bowl" area of the arena which are chair-back, theatre-style seats. An additional 2000 seats are available on the second level in the form of retractable bleacher seating.
Frank G. Lumpkin, Jr. was a long-time supporter of Columbus State University, particularly its athletic programs. A life-long resident of Columbus, Mr. Lumpkin helped found and run the Wilcox-Lumpkin Company, one of the nation's oldest insurance companies still in the hands of the founding family. His son, Frank III, now runs the company.
