Mike Peacock is in his 16th year at Columbus State University and his fifth in the role of Assistant Athletic Director for Communications and Compliance. He came to CSU in the summer of 1995 and became the school's first full-time Sports Information Director (SID) - a post he held for 11 years before assuming his current role.
Since coming to CSU, Mike has had the privilege of working in several local, national, and international events; most notably the 1996 Olympics where he served as the Assistant Competition Manager for Softball Results, as those games were held in Columbus, Georgia. He worked for some 21 consecutive years at the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship in Montgomery, AL, which includes the 2002 National Championship year for CSU. He has also worked at the 1996 NCAA Division I National Softball Championship and Superball, an international softball tournament in 1995. Peacock has served as the host SID for the 2000 Division II Softball Championship, the 2001 NCAA South Atlantic Women's Basketball Regional, the 2003 NCAA Division II South Atlantic Men's Regional, and the 2006 and 2007 NCAA South Atlantic Softball Regional, as well as other regional events in the sports of women's soccer, golf and tennis.
Peacock is a 1988 graduate of the University of West Alabama (formerly Livingston University) where he spent four years as an assistant sports information director under the tutelage of Dee Outlaw, retired athletic director at UWA and widely considered one of the best SIDs in the business during his time there. He was a member of the baseball team for one year and spent two years as sports editor of the school newspaper.
Peacock and wife Dana reside in Columbus with their two sons, Brooks and Bryn. The family is active in Morningside Baptist Church and other activities, including Little League Baseball.
