Four CSU Cheerleaders Named to Team USA 2010

Columbus, Ga. -- Columbus State University cheer coach Jimbo Davis learned over the weekend of the selection of four of his Cougar cheerleaders to the 2010 Team USA Cheer Team. Graduate assistant coach Andy Brown was also chosen for the squad.  Dishon Clark (soph.), Lauren Henderson, (soph.), Cortney Laughlin (junior), and Molly Winter (senior) were selected to the team.
The USA Federation for Sport Cheering announced Sunday December 6, 2009 the selection of these five along with 55 others to represent the United States of America in the 2010 International Cheer Union World Cup on April 23, 2010. The national search for America's top cheerleaders has taken several months to put together one all-female and one co-ed cheer team. There were over 40 countries represented at the 2009 World Cup and there are an anticipated 60+ countries expected to attend in 2010.

Cheerleaders were chosen after a three-part selection process. After filling out an online application, eligible cheerleaders were invited to an official tryout in Atlanta, Georgia, on Sunday December 6, 2009.  The final 60 cheerleaders were chosen in this tryout and the teams announced.
