Cheerleading, Dance Tryouts Announced
Columbus – Columbus State University cheerleading and dance coach Jimbo Davis has announced the dates for tryouts for the 2012-12 spirit squads. The tryouts for both teams will be held on Friday, May 4 and Saturday, May 5 inside the Lumpkin Center on the campus of CSU.
Those wishing to tryout must complete the following things and return back to Davis as soon as possible:
- A completely filled out Information Sheet (can be downloaded below)
- Two pictures of yourself (full length and head shot, does not have to be professional
- Two letters of recommendation (principal, high school coach, all-star coach, teacher, pastor, etc.)
Dance tryouts will begin on Friday, May 4 at 7:00 p.m. inside the Lumpkin Center with cheerleading tryouts starting at 8:00 p.m. Full workshops will be held that day for each team.
On Saturday, May 5 interviews, physicals and the final selection of the teams will be announced.
Anyone who is a full-time student at Columbus State University or has applied may try out. This includes incoming freshmen and transfer students. Students must have a minimum 2.0 GPA and be free of any academic or disciplinary probation. If you have not yet applied and been accepted to CSU, prospective students may easily apply on line at www.columbusstate.edu
