Immelman Named to Georgia Trend's 2008 40 Under 40
Columbus, GA - Columbus State head golf coach Mark Immelman, who is in his seventh season at the school, has been named to the 2008 Georgia Trend Magazine's 40 Under 40 list. For the 12th straight year, 40 high-achieving Georgians under the age of 40 are recognized for making their marks in business, government, education, the arts, and the world of nonprofits. "I'm honored to be in the company of such promising individuals," said Immelman.
Each year, the Georgia Trend editorial staff engages the magazine's readers to help identify those individuals who will lead Georgia's business, cultural, academic, and governmental institutions in decades to come.
This year's marks what may be the highest level of individual participation in 40 Under 40 history. More than 300 readers nominated some 180 candidates.
"I hope my inclusion on this list will bring some notoriety to the CSU athletics program," added Immelman.
In addition to his role as CSU golf coach, Immelman operates Mark Immelman Golf Instruction, a teaching academy at Bull Creek Golf Course. He teaches the game to all levels of players and also works with young touring professionals such as his younger brother and 2008 Masters champion Trevor Immelman.
