Columbus State Men's Golf Receives At-Large Bid for NCAA South/Southeast Regional

Indianapolis – The Columbus State University men's golf team was selected to the 2012 NCAA South/Southeast Region it was announced Friday afternoon.
With the at-large selection, the Cougars have now made every NCAA Tournament field since becoming a NCAA sanctioned school.
CSU was the last at-large selection to get a bid into the regional, which will be held at the Rock Barn Golf & Spa Club in Conover, North Carolina. The event will get under way on Monday, May 7.
Five other Peach Belt Conference schools will be in the field including top-seeded UNC Pembroke. Wingate, the South Atlantic Conference Tournament winners, Barton and Coker, the Conference Carolinas Tournament winners, will also compete for a shot to advance to the NCAA Championship.
Ten South region schools will also make the trek to North Carolina. Nova Southeastern, Barry, Lynn, North Alabama and West Florida are the top-five seeds heading into the Regional.
The top-five teams and the top-two individual players after play is concluded with advance to the NCAA Championship on May 15 in Simpsonville, Kentucky.
