Suarez Named PBC Player of the Week in Men's Tennis

Columbus,Ga.-- Columbus State senior tennis player Frank Suarez has been named Peach Belt Conference men's tennis Player of the Week for the week ending February 7. The announcement was made Wednesday by the conference office in Augusta.

Suarez, the 16th-ranked singles player in the nation, began his senior season with a 1-1 mark after falling in three sets at Division I Samford before winning against Alabama-Huntsville in straight sets. At Samford, he dropped his first set to Zac Dunkle 4-6 but rallied to take the second 6-4 and then forced a third-set tiebreak which he lost 7-3. His doubles match with Christophe Noblet was called after Samford claimed the other two. Against UAH, Suarez took out AndresBuse 6-2, 6-2 and won with Noblet at number one doubles 8-3.

Suarez and his teammates return to action on Thursday as they travel to Americus to face Georgia Southwestern.
