Morgan Knight Selected as Peach Belt Conference Freshman of the Week

AUGUSTA- Morgan Knight was chosen as Peach Belt Conference Freshman of the Week chosen by the league office in Augusta this afternoon.

Knight impressed in her first week of collegiate softball action hitting .393 with two home runs, two doubles, and drove in eight runs for the Lady Cougars who went 6-2 for the week. She had a slugging percentage of .750 and collected multiple hits in four of CSU's first eight games. The freshman hit her first collegiate homerun in the Cougar's 8-0 victory over Miles College. Knight has been a key addition to the top of the order for CSU posting a .514 on-base percentage and was 3-for-3 in stolen bases attempts.

She has also shown her defensive skills with a pair of tremendous diving catches and her throwing arm from centerfield. Her 10 runs scored leads the Peach Belt Conference and she is fifth with eight RBIs.
