Columbus State Softball Prepares to take on Alabama

Columbus – The Columbus State University softball team will continue its fall season on Sunday, October 2 when they take on the University of Alabama at Rhoads Stadium in Tuscaloosa.  The Lady Cougars will be one of only two NCAA Division II teams to compete against Alabama in the fall season.  First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.

"It is going to be a great experience for the whole team", stated Huskisson. "To take on one of the best softball programs in the nation year in and year out and to play in the best atmosphere in the nation is such a great honor."

The game will be a part of a doubleheader with Columbus State taking on Wallace State-Hanceville beginning at 1:00 p.m.  

Columbus State will wrap up their fall season during the month and then prepare for the start of the 2012 season in February.  The Lady Cougars are coming off an impressive 2010 season in which they went 37-16 and return seven starters.
