Columbus State Earns No. 5 Seed in NCAA Southeast Region

Columbus – Off the heals of their first Peach Belt Conference Tournament championship since 2007, Columbus State was selected as the No. 5 seed in the NCAA Division II Softball Southeast Region. They will open up play against No. 4 seed Augusta State on Friday, May 4 at 3:30 p.m. in Dahlonega, Georgia at Haines and Carolyn Hill Stadium.
North Georgia earned the top seed in the region and will serve as one of two host institutions during regional competition. The Saints will square off versus King College who earned their first-ever NCAA bid after winning the Conference Carolinas Conference Tournament.
In the other half of the bracket, Armstrong Atlantic State University garnered the No. 2 seed and will host No. 3 Lenoir-Rhyne, No. 6 Catawba and No. 7 Flagler in Savannah, Georgia. Their regional will also get underway on Friday with the No. 3/6 matchup beginning at 12:00 p.m.
The winners of the two regions will face-off in the super-regional with the winner advancing to the College World Series in Louisville, Kentucky.
