Scott Wachholz will be entering his first year as a graduate
assistant softball coach during the 2011-12 school year. He
will assist with the day-to-day operations with the softball
program with an emphasis on recruiting, the strength and
conditioning program and working with the corner infielders and
bunting.
Wachholz arrives in Columbus after serving the last two and a half
years as the assistant director of athletic performance at Hitters
Sportplex in Middleton, Wisconsin where he worked alongside two
former Division I strength and conditioning coaches. For the past
year, he worked with the Sun Prairie High School as their strength
and
conditioning coach as well as a softball coaching consultant.
The West Allis, WI native had a four-year stint as the head coach
of the Pride of the Midwest, a U16 travel softball team. He got his
start as a softball coach as a student assistant at the University
of Wisconsin during the 2006 – 2008 seasons.
Wachholz earned his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and
Psychology in 2010. He plans to pursue a master’s degree in
Organizational Leadership with a concentration in Human
Resources
