"Pink Out" Planned for Wednesday's Final Home Basketball Games at the Lumpkin Center

Columbus, Ga. -- The color of the day on Wednesday at Columbus State University's Frank G. Lumpkin Center will be pink. The CSU basketball teams are hosting a "Pink Out" at the arena for the final regular-season home double header of the season as the teams host Georgia Southwestern.

All CSU fans are encouraged to wear pink on Wednesday in support of breast cancer awareness. The CSU women's team will wear special pink shirts during warmups for the game and will also wear varying pink accents with their regular game uniforms, such as pink shoe laces, pink socks, pink headbands, etc. The Cougar men will warm up in a special white shirt with pink logos in support of the cause.

In addition to wearing pink, fans will be encouraged to participate in a number of activities such as raffles and t-shirt sales, the proceeds of which will go to both the Susan G. Komen and Kay Yow Breast Cancer Research foundations. All of the gate receipts from Wednesday's patrons will also be donated to the cause.

The CSU senior basketball players will also be recognized on Wednesday, just after the women's contest and prior to the start of men's warmups. Both teams will honor their senior players at this time. At halftime of the women's game, the CSU soccer team will play a short basketball challenge game, and at halftime of the men's game, the CSU cheer squad will perform its routine for the Peach Belt Conference Championship next month.

Fans are encouraged to come out in force on Wednesday and invite friends to the event. Admission is a requested donation of any amount to the cause. The women's game is set for 5:30 p.m. and the men's game will follow at approximately 7:30 p.m.
