Former Columbus State University Soccer Player Lindsey Morgan Joins Stephen F. Austin Coaching Staff

COLUMBUS - Columbus State University soccer alum Lindsey Morgan was hired as an assistant coach at Stephen F. Austin, a Division I member of the Southland Conference.

"Lindsey was instrumental in putting Columbus State University Soccer on the map, both on and off the field," said CSU Head Women's Soccer Coach Jay Entlich.  "She has and always will be an ambassador for our program and the University.  We are so proud of her accomplishments as a player and coach, and wish her continued success at Stephen F. Austin."

Morgan's arrival in Nacogdoches, TX comes after five years with the Lady Cougars program. She had a stellar four-year playing career from 2005-2008 at CSU.  Morgan joined a second-year program that only won three games its inaugural season and led them to 74 wins during her playing career, including four Peach Belt Conference regular season titles, three Peach Belt Conference Tournament championships and three NCAA Tournament appearances.  The midfielder ranks third all-time in assists, 10th in points and has played in the fifth most games donning the red, white and blue.

The Conyers, GA native spent one season as an assistant coach with the Columbus State program, supporting in several areas.  Morgan helped direct training sessions, scouting opponents, game-day preparation, coordinating the offseason strength and conditioning program and arranging recruiting visits.  She also worked the Columbus State Soccer camps as a senior staff coach.  Since July 2007, Morgan worked as a college preparatory camp coach which includes designing and conducting development sessions for high school aged players.  During her time in this role, she was invited to prominent camps with Florida State, Birmingham United Soccer Association and the Atlanta Fire United of Region III Premier League.

Morgan earned a bachelor's degree in communications from Columbus State University in May 2010.  She currently holds a USSF Class "D" license.
