Schedules for Weekend Events Altered by Weather
Columbus, Ga. -- The storm system that rolled through Columbus and is heading toward the East Coast, plus the forecast of more rain over the next 24 hours has altered the schedule for CSU spring sports teams. Tennis, softball and baseball have had their weekend schedules altered.
In tennis, CSU was to have played Tuskegee today (Thursday, March 11) and that match has been re-scheduled for Sunday, April 11, at 2 p.m. The scheduled match at UNC Pembroke for Saturday was orginally rescheduled for Tuesday, March 23, at 3 p.m, but has now been moved back to Saturday (March 13) and will start at 3 p.m.. CSU head coach Evan Isaacs has also announced a make-up date for the Auburn-Montgomery match which was rained out on Tuesday. That match will now be played on April 6 at AUM at 2:30 p.m.
The CSU softball team was to have played at Anderson College on Friday, but that double header has been cancelled due to the weather occurring and forecast for that area. The date will not be made up.
In baseball, CSU and Montevallo were originally scheduled to begin their three-game Peach Belt Conference series on Friday evening, but rain and wet grounds have resulted in a move to a Saturday-Sunday series. Saturday's double header will go on as originally scheduled at 2 p.m., while the Friday single game has now moved to Sunday, also at 2 p.m.
Live stats for the baseball series will be available by clicking the link on either the csucougars.com front page or on the baseball schedule page.
